I may be forced to move from my mac book pro onto a dell laptop, spit, but i sure as heck dont want to have to run windows so.... Does anyone know how easy it is to get CentOS to work with a vodaphone 3g card?
I see that it should be possible and a couple of reports of it working under gentoo etc but i wonder if anyone here has had any experience of this at all?

You didn't say what model card you have, but I have a (I believe) Merlin U630 card which shows up as a standard serial port using the serial_cs module under CentOS4 (2.6.9-42.0.10.EL). The same card also worked under SLES in the previous machine.
I am using this card in a desktop machine in a PCMCIA->PCI adaptor for sending and receiving SMS messages (network monitoring alerts, etc)
