Here's what I get:
[root@socrates root]# yum update Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3 - Addons Server: CentOS-3 - Base Server: CentOS-3 - Extras Server: CentOS-3 - Updates Finding updated packages Downloading needed headers Resolving dependencies .IOError - # 2 - No such file or directory
I've tried yum clean and yum clean all, rpm --rebuilddb.
Any ideas?

Never mind.
Google turned up the problem, verified by running "up2date -u" - nptl-devel needed to be removed and it was all good after that.
