I guess this may mean that reiser4 will never ever make it into the mainline kernel let alone RHEL/Centos

It's definitely interesting to see where people's priorities and thoughts are on this situation. Some are worried about reiser4, some are worried about Nina, and still more are worried about the stigma of having an (alleged) murderer involved with Open Source software.
