You could consider Fedora Core 5 a rough feature set. RedHat will be basing RHEL5 off of FC5. Although some things may look dramatically different. They've already stated that they won't be including Mono/Beagle and I'd be somewhat surprised if they stuck with Apache 2.2 which hasn't received all that much field testing.

well, somewhat - but still very different - lots of stuff from FC5 will not make it into RHEL5, and there will be things in RHEL5 that might not ever be in FC5 - Even for the package versions that are shared at some point, there will be different releases and the code is tracked away from FC's tree. So while there will be some similarity in fc5 ( release time ) and rhel5, i would not start building stuff against fc5's api's etc.
