I was thinking the last few days, wouldn't it be better to divide the centos-announce list by the archs, so that if I'm interested in the i386 arch, I only get those, and not the ia64, or the s390.

its possible to do that already, login to your account on lists.centos.org/ and select the release + Arch you want from the options there.
