Hi
This is not a RHEL list but i am sure someone here knows the answer :) I downloaded the wrong ISO's from RH and installed RHAS when i really wanted RHES - I know there is little (no) difference between the 2 but what do i need to do to 'convert' a RHAS box to RHEL ?
thanks

Should be able to replace the redhat-release package on RHAS with the redhat-release package on RHES.

Question: RHAS supports 4 CPU systems, while RHES supports 2 CPU systems. Is this a licensing limitation, or is the kernel modified to accomplish this?

Far as I know it's strictly a licensing/support issue. Nothing technical to it.

A look at the last release Kernel by RedHat shows:
AS4 kernel-smp-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL.i686.rpm beae36ad8d86d16bed5fda24c1365e51
ES4 kernel-smp-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL.i686.rpm beae36ad8d86d16bed5fda24c1365e51
SO ... they are exactly the same kernel RPMS.
The issue is exactly as Jim said ... licensing/support.

is there anywhere to get this rpm without downloading the iso's ?
damn - sorry
you can download packages from RHN aswell as ISO's
Also, in general, some mirrors allow to browse ISO images and download selected files from the images. One such mirror I have found is http://www.mirrorservice.org
