Let me QUICKLY say I'm not complaining here, but is the csgfs repository not being actively maintained? The Red Hat ftp site has much newer versions available than what is currently in the CentOS csgfs repo, at least for the kernel modules. Should I just go ahead and rebuild them from the SRPMs myself, or is this an unintended condition? This has been holding me up from upgrading to the -4.0.3 kernel. It's not a critical problem, but I'd like to keep current if possible.
Thanks!
What version of CentOS is this for?
There is no CentOS-3 GFS for the latest kernel update yet (2.4.21-47.0.1.EL). My build environment mirrors the redhat FTP site and as yes has not received any new version. Now that I have gone searching manually, I have found the SRPM in the WS repo but not in the AS repo (which is what I mirror).
I shall kick of the build now.
I don't know about CentOS-4.
John.

Well, I spoke too soon. The update to GFS is still for the 2.4.21-47.EL kernel so AFAIK, no version of GFS has been released for the 47.0.1 kernel.

I'm using the cluster suite and GFS on CentOS 4 on both i386 and x86_64 arches. I was checking against the SRPMS at ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/enterprise/4ES/en/RHCS/SRPMS and ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/enterprise/4ES/en/RHGFS/SRPMS to determine if I was out-of-date. As an example, the latest version of GFS-kernel in the CentOS repo is 2.6.9-58.3 while the current SRPM on Red Hat's ftp server is 2.6.9-60.3. 2.6.9-58.3 has the required modules for kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3.
Now that I have gone searching manually, I have found the SRPM in the WS repo but not in the AS repo (which is what I mirror).
That's odd! The 4AS/4ES/4WS update trees all have the new CS and GFS stuff. I would not imagine that Red Hat would purposely treating 3 and 4 differently... it's too much extra work.
Thanks!
