It worked on C 6, but on a C 7 box, I've restarted crond, and cron.allow doesn't have what's in cron.allw.local. What am I missing, folks?

I don't know. I looked in the default CentOS 6 cronie package which would meld these together on a restart. Neither the /etc/rc.d/init.d/cron nor the binaries mention a .local file anywhere I could find. Do you still have a working C6 system with it to see if the init script is different?
