Interesting. I've been coloed there for years and have never had the slightest issue. In fact, a hurricane flooded the area and I never even noticed. They were supposedly on backup power for days. Do you know what datacenter you're in?

Supposedly, they say that somewhere close a construction cut some power cables, and a bunch of others buildings in the area are out of power.
This is the third strike. My clients don't care if it was my fault, superb or someone else, they want to see results.
PS. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will be making a lot of research tomorrow.

I've just got a dedicated server with serverpronto.com. I've had a gentoo machine with them before, but now I'm using cPanel on a CentOS box. Service has always been reliable. But they sting you for support. :S

Do they charge you when you need to "physically" reset the server? i.e. when the kernel panics.
Yes they do. :(

I would definitively take a look at webhostingtalk before going to serverpronto.com. Unless things changes (a lot) in the past few months, they are not regarded as a good or reliable provider.

No experience with serverpronto, but be aware that at least in the past ThePlanet had shills on webhostingtalk that were actually employees that masqueraded as satisfied customers.

Yes, I remember that one too. Nasty.
That is why I recomend Wiresix. Everyone in WHT agrees that if you are with Ryan, you are in good hands.
Too bad they don't provide any servers for centos.org :(

that's not an excused, that's why they're a colocation to have 0% downtime. they should have foreseen this.
