Is it at all possible to do a graphical netinstall ?
I am using centos 5.2, and i have been doing net installs (pxe) for a while in console mode...

As long as the machine has 256MBs or more of ram yes, you can. Just grab the "netinstall.iso" from one of the centos mirrors in the "/i386 directory. If, the machine has 256 MB or more ram it should auto graphical install.

I know about the netinstall cdrom option, i want to boot via PXE (netboot) and do a graphical install...
I currently have the PXE tftboot running but that does not boot in graphical mode (Anaconda gives: Graphical install not available)...
This is probably quite simple to get up and running, but no go yet,..
The netinstali iso works, but the complete startup of the installer is started from the cdrom..

There is no boot prompt that I Know of for the PXE install. That's why I recommended the trying the net install ISO to have a command prompt to issuse boot commands.. The only prompt in the PXE Install is the choice of Opperatting Systems you have configured on the PXE Server in your config file.

Yes that is the only thing that can be configured. You can only configure the Labels in it for booting different Oses with Test only install. I spent TWO Days trying to get the old RHEL4 PXE setup to work on RHEL5 using the RHEL4 packages and there was just to many changes made against EL5 to do so.
If you don't mind me asking are you using EL4 "CentOS 4" or Cobbler or Spacewalk?
Any way since your appending a Kick Start file why not just do a completely Unattended Install. Turn the machine on and walk away. "method=unattended"

I have got the graphical install running by booting from cdrom (also the VNC variant), but i would like to run these completely from the network (nfs or http or whatever..)
This does not seem to work and i haven't been able to find anything on the net about it... (all references to graphical "net" install are using the netinstall cdrom)...

You can put your Media in NFS or HTTP and make Anaconda Pull from there. Can also do what's called a Push. IE push the files to the client from another machine. That would be something like Using a Virtual Drive.

I have tried the NFS option as well, but the installer hangs at Selinux loading policy ...

It was a problem with the amount of memory i had in the VM... It should be more than 256mb for a graphical install...

The pxeboot initrd and vmlinuz are in the boot directory on CD 1.
Copy those to the tftpboot directory, along with your pxelinux.0, and put the syslinux config in the pxelinux.cfg/default file, mine looks like so:

There's also a .ppt floating around from last years RH-summit, IIRC that is also a good documentation for all the options. Nowadays, I do all my provisioning with cobbler and tend to forget he details.... ;-)
