Gents,
Under 4.3 and the associated kernel it took 17 seconds to recompile my entire application on my amd 4800+ X2. Down from 1 minute and 20 seconds on my old platform.
I just tried under the new 2.6.9-42 kernel and it is 15 seconds.
So that modification to the kernel for disk improvement seemed to help my compile time... Just sharing...
Great work on 4.4.

Consider yourself lucky. It's much easier to recycle your gear. :)

Well you could get funky with it and make the A's right side be crumbling and falling apart transforming into the F in a *graphic* and then people would understand better?

ya ya y'all just tryin to make me feel good but who the hell wants to run boring shinny new equipment and miss all the excitement and challenge of re-installing centos every other day in something and never losing anything.
Good defense...ya, why I spent so much time writing this elaborate backup system that backs up every 4 hrs!!!
...and the challenge...yep, ...sendmail...delivered from garbage can stuff..uh huh
course I've always got plenty to do and no time to learn very much

That excitement can be replaced by the excitement of trying to install EL on latest bleeding edge stuff that is only FC5 supported? And video for X, ... So boredom should not be an issue. Can't lose what you could never obtain! ... I guess you could *miss* it though.
