I have downloaded the php5 rpms from Centos and successfully am running them on RHEL4. However, there is no rpm for php-mssql. Has anyone created one that could be installed on RHEL4? Thanks. - Mark
Never mind, I downloaded the php source and finally built it correctly

This was split out upstream into a php-extras src.rpm. There isn't much in the src.rpm that we can provide by default without linking to other repositories for packages or duplicating build efforts of rpmforge and others. If there is a need to provide this, please let me know. A bug of similar nature was submitted to bugs.centos.org about this, but I've only recieved input on it from the submitter. How do others feel about this issue?

It would have been useful to me a few months ago when I built in it the provided SRPM, and it will be useful in the future for easy updates and future deployments if it's added. So I vote towards supplying it (and the required freetds of course).
I should have created or added to the existing bug report when I had to deal with this.

i rebuild php 5.1.6 and all the php extras, including php-mssql, from the upstream (from fc6 and rawhide) and i have the rpms but i was discouraged because some here say that officially centos will never pack anything more than php 5.1.4 that come in the new RHEL LAMP stack.
i have the rpms in two production systems now (a national poverty database for social programs). I only recently find that php 5.1.6 is in centosplus now. i am downloading the srpms and see if i can do the trick with my srpms from php-extras to obtain mssql paired with the centosplus php
