Yes, that is the only way to get it to work in x86_64 now.

The nomachine.com supplied SOURCE files (their tar.gz C code) does not build on x86_64.

They are not yet supporting x86_64.

Yes. The only reason I mentioned it is that when I first tried this a few months ago, even the i386 packages didn't work.
