Guys,
I've just setup 5.0 and can reproduce a crash/reboot every time. Details;
x86_64 Install Using Xen Kernel System fully updated including Xen Kernel (latest 1.1 update) Intel Dual Core E6400 4gb RAM
I've installed vmware server 1.0.2 from rpm. It has been configured and is ready to create new machines. I have successfully created a new machine but when I attempt to power-on the system resets. No panic information, just straight to the BIOS.
I've searched bugzilla and there appears to be nothing related.
I'll do some more testing tomorrow, I'll try without the Xen-ified kernel.
Anyone else see this sort of behaviour ?
Brian.

I'm thinking that when you try it again with a normal kernel you will have better success. The VMware you are trying to run will be starting in a already virtualized environment.

Shite !
I thought it was too good to be true.
Back to openvz for my 'vm' strategy.
I need to run vmware and have the ability to run virtual machines.
Cheers,
Brian.

You can have virtual machines "under" vmware, but not "next" to vmware. I don't think the latter can be done yet.

It can with openvz. I currently use it on 4.4 along with vmware. Strictly speaking it is not a 'vm', more like a VPS, but it works well.
