As someone did suggest though, a FAQ on SSH would be a good idea.
I think it's a great idea - go ahead and do it...why wait for others?
I suggested it, and not just for common SSH on CentOS questions but for anything that's, well, frequently asked on the list and at least vaguely CentOS related.
Would a WiKi (I'd vote MediaWiki but only because I already know the markup and have a bunch of stuff I could drop in :)) similar to the MailScanner one be a good idea?
Will.

hi Will,
we've looked at moin as the wiki base, mainly because it has excellent ACL support, is very fast and seems ( opinion ) more secure than mediawiki ( which was the only other one we looked at ).
Keep a lookout for a CentOS wiki coming soon, its in the works.

Sounds interesting; keep us posted.

Perhaps making the list archives searchable would help more than anything.
I have found this list extremely helpful and friendly. But there are times that it is best to point someone to past threads for more coverage of a topic that cannot easily be given off the top of one's head.
But there is nothing more irritating to a newbie than to be told to search the list when no search feature it provided.
Just a thought... ;-)

Searchable archives may be found at http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=centos&r=1&w=2 Also, the list is mirrored as a newsgroup at news://news.gmane.org:119/gmane.linux.centos.general

There's also Google site searches which would limit results to stuff from the archive...
site:lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/ [search terms]
e.g.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=site%3Alists.centos.org%2Fpiperma...

That is also cool. Thanks. But if the aim is to improve the signal to noise ratio on the list, it should be made as easy and convenient as possible to search past threads.
I believe that when people post FAQ-like questions here they are as likely as not in a crisis situation (as perceived by them, and who are we to judge?).
I've been in enough "crisis situations" (and posted enough FAQ-like questions) that I can say with some confidence that making a list specific search easy and quick to do, and without having to review the Google search engine syntax, would likely improve the signal to noise ratio.
Though as I have said before, the ratio on this list is already pretty damn good, in comparison to other lists. ;-)
So, would it be difficult to put a search feature on the official "CentOS List Archives" page? I've never done it, so I don't know.

Twiki is good too. It has even been packaged in a virtual machine at http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/vm/community.html for a quick test drive.
