Hi there! Im trying to install windows 10 as a guest on Centos 8.1 I tried with cockpit and with boxes and both times my computer freezes during installation.
Any ideas?

cockpit is intended as a replacement for virt-manager. When it fails, I suggest you fall back on the tried-and-tested approach.
I sense you're looking for a GUI solution here but, when I've run into trouble, my fallback is virt-install.

I agree with Liam. The good old tried and tested virt-manager will be obsoleted in the future but it is still available on RHEL/CentOS 8. Cockpit will replace it in the future but it still lacks a lot of essential features.
Boxes is a tool that lacks even more functionality.
As to why your computer freezes I have no clue.

I tried to use cockpit but virt-manager seems easier. Is there a config file for cockpit? Where is it?

There is indeed a config file: /etc/cockpit/cockpit.conf
The latest version can be found here: https://cockpit-project.org/guide/latest/cockpit.conf.5.html
And the manual page for your own version: man 5 cockpit.conf
