Is there a source for Suspend2 available as an rpm for Centos 4.5 and/or 5.0?
And to use it would it be necessary to recompile the kernel?

Looks like kernel-suspend2 rpms are available from ATrpms. Read:

for how to obtain rpms from 3rd party repositories.

I only see it for Centos 5 there. Not 4.5.....
