Have folks been using Cmake on Centos5 without issues? I have installed
an RPM for it, but I've been running into some apparent configuration
issues.

Yes, I successfully use cmake-2.6.4-7.el5 from the atrpms.net repository. Have a look at atrpms.net for getting the file. For me it worked out of the box on a CentOS 5.3 x86_64.
