NEW MIRROR
by abdulaziz.alahmad@glesys.se

Admins,
I am in the process of upgrading and moving our CentOS mirror to a new
server for host mirrors.greenmountainaccess.net.
The new server will provide the same services, with the addition of being
IPv6. The new servers IP addresses are:
65.19.65.9
2001:18b0:ffff:31f1::9
Would you allow these additional IPs to sync along with the existing
one: 65.19.69.49. I will let you know when I have fully switched over and
you can remove the 65.19.69.49.
Thank you,
Adam

future. The new server will have a different ipv4 address but will take
the same fqdn as the current mirrors host. I have completed an initial

Dear All,
I have a couple of questions about one specific mirror:
http://lug.mtu.edu
Today I have multitude "package not found" errors for that mirror when
updates are run on my machines. (Up to you giving up and going to
different mirror). I am reluctant to point all my machines to our public
mirror I maintain (I don't know why, maybe I am just lazy), and rely on
fastestmirror plugin. And this keeps happening even though mirror has OK
status on mirror status page:
http://mirror-status.centos.org/
My questions are:
1. does someone have a guess why that may be happening to me?
2. As my wild guess is: either that mirror starts throttling clients badly
after some amount of data, or there is some other similar reason why some
stuff appears inaccessible to clients. So: could someone contact mirror
maintainer with the question why someone has these problems. I am coming
from domain uchicago.edu (specifically from the following IP blocks:
128.135.4.0/24, 128.135.52.0/24, 128.135.20.0/25). Or: how can I find out
who the maintainer of that mirror is (I will contact the maintainer myself
then)?
Thanks.

Hi all,
Similar to our “normal” CentOS mirror, we recently started mirroring the altarch tree; http://mirror.nucleus.be/centos-altarch/
Our previous mirror – which is still synced – is here; http://centos.mirror.nucleus.be/
Can the altarch be added to the repo list?
Thanks,

after many years of service to the open source community the decision
has been made to shut down Telia Denmark's mirror service.
The server, mirrors.dk.telia.net, will be shut down by the end of
September (29/9 2017)
I think the mirror is already gone from the mirror list because it's out
of sync but please remove these addresses from the sync ACL:

Hi, I just disabled 27 mirrors that had been unreachable since our
mirror monitoring node move a few months ago, and those mirrors that
were last synced more than half a year ago. If you find that your mirror
has disappeared from http://mirror-status.centos.org/ and wish to be
reinstated, please let me know. Note that if you are no longer listed as
a mirror, your mirror's IP addresses have also been removed from the
msync.centos.org ACL, so you may need to re-sync from some other
external mirror first.
There were also 18 rsync URLs and 12 FTP URLs that had been inaccessible
for the last 7 months. Those were also removed from the list, leaving
the other URLs for each mirror intact. This change will help users (and
new mirror admins) in finding a working rsync URL for their rsyncing needs.
In other happier news, CentOS 7.4.1708 is approaching. You already have
nearly all of 7.4.1708's packages because those were shipped in
7.3.1611's CR repository. Using rsync's -H option (preserve hard links)
will simply link the 7.3.1611 CR and 7.4.1708 base packages together
when 7.4.1708 is released to mirrors, saving quite a lot of bandwidth.
Obviously the hard linking will not help with the 16GB of 7.4.1708 .iso
images. The old 7.3.1611 release will be removed from mirrors later on.
Hi,
Please remove cosmos.illinois.edu from the mirror list at your
convenience. We’re planning its retirement and I’d like to give clients
a few weeks to find a new source before it’s shut off.
Thanks,
Chris
Hey,
I am migrating the old Server to a new one, there will be an upcoming IP
change.
IPv4 Old: 84.246.124.35, new: 84.246.124.43
IPv6 Old: 2a01:1f8:2000::c, new: 2a01:1f8:2000::14
Both servers will be active simultaneously for some days, please allow
both IP sets to sync with the master. Feel free to drop the old ones on
monday (or after).
Note: The New servers are not yet propagated via DNS and is in the
pre-sync stage. The DNS Switch will occur once synced and IPs are
whitelisted.
Cheers,
Christian.
