Please allow access for our site (http://mirror.anl.gov) to sync from msync-dvd.centos.org. rsync to us-msync.centos.org

i am always getting connection rejected (error max connections (40) reached) for the last 3 days or so when i try to rsync from us-msync.centos.org. i am a tier 2 mirror. i noticed that the mirror status page is showing 94 of 186 as current (meaning the rest 92 are not) - maybe because of the same problem? -- sriram ps: i tried syncing from mirrors.kernel.org and it went through, so now we are showing 95 of 186 as current ...

can you create problems with uid/gid?

I noticed that /CentOS/5/os was giving me a 403 forbidden error, but /CentOS/5.0/os/ wasn't. I tracked the problem; the files in /5/ are symlinks to the files in /5.0/, but they were owned by uid 503 and the targets in /5.0/ were owned by uid 500. My server is set SymLinksIfOwnerMatch, and if possible, I'd like to keep it that way. Hi everyone. I finally got approval to make my mirror public. Relevant info: Host: mirrors.rit.edu Protocols: http, rsync Directory: /centos Location: Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, USA Sponsor: Research Computing (URL after the web page is less ugly) Bandwidth: uncapped (I forgot our exact pipes, but I think we have a combined i1 bandwidth of 550Mb/s and and i2 of 200Mb/s) Preferred public contact email: paul.mezzanini(a)rit.edu I sync nightly but if need-be I can add another cron line or two. (right now it fires all my updates off in series at 3am local time) I hope I have all the info you need -paul
