Hi All,
I have created a new CentOS Mirror, details of which are below.
HTTP: http://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos FTP: ftp://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos RSYNC: rsync://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos
Sync schedule: Every 4 hrs Bandwidth: 1Gbps Location: Australia Sponsor: Christopher Hawker Sponsor URL: http://www.chrishawker.com.au IPv4 address to authorize: 13.54.97.197 IPv6 address to authorize: N/A Email contact: christopherh1992@outlook.com.au OR hello@chrishawker.com.au Mirroring AltArch: No (Planned to mirror in the very near future)

HTTP: http://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos FTP: ftp://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos RSYNC: rsync://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos
Hi, it looks like your rsync port is not open in your firewall, or the daemon is not running:
$ rsync rsync://mirror.chrishawker.com.au/centos/ rsync: failed to connect to mirror.chrishawker.com.au (13.54.97.197): Connection refused (111) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.9]
Otherwise your mirror seems to be OK.
As for AltArch, yes, you will need to wait until Fabian adds your IP address to the appropriate ACL. You can also make your initial rsync from some other public mirror that mirrors AltArch, and then switch to using msync.c.o for further updates. Some examples (there are more, but these were the quickest to find from my logs):
rsync://mirror.math.princeton.edu/pub/centos-altarch/ rsync://rsync.osuosl.org/centos-altarch/ rsync://mirror.chpc.utah.edu/pub/centos-altarch/ rsync://ca.mirror.babylon.network/centos-altarch/ rsync://mirrors.ocf.berkeley.edu/centos-altarch/ rsync://mirror.airenetworks.es/CentOS-AltArch/ rsync://mirror1.hs-esslingen.de/centos-altarch/
Hi Anssi,
Thanks for looking into it. I missed the command to enable the service on startup (it's now 12:33am here in Sydney :D). If you check it now, it should work. Port is now open.
Regards, Christopher Hawker Phone: +61 478 164 665

Hi,
When trying to validate it, it seems it's not reachable ...
Can you verify and keep us posted ?
Hi Fabian,
You may try to validate the server again, my apologies. I had a client who "forgot" to disable recursion on one of their DNS servers which impacted my entire network :/
Apologies again for the delay.

Also I forgot to mention, I will be mirroring AltArch, which is still in progress as it is mirroring from Berkeley.edu to Sydney, which can be slow sometimes. For the links, just append -altarch to all the links below.

Hi Daniel,
As I mentioned, "I will be mirroring AltArch, which is still in progress". I will enable rsync when complete so if someone tries to mirror in the meantime, they do not get a partial mirror.
