[CentOS-devel] [StorageSIG] state of Ceph

Hi,

This is the state of the Ceph effort so far:

Ceph-specific dist-gits are hosted at https://github.com/CentOS-Storage-SIG

Ceph Hammer (0.94.5) packages have been built and tagged
storage7-ceph-hammer-testing:
http://cbs.centos.org/koji/taginfo?tagID=646
These work well enough for test and development use cases.

A centos-release-ceph-hammer rpm has been built but is not yet
properly tagged to go into extras:

A Ceph quickstart howto (WIP) was added to the wiki:

Next steps:
* properly tag the centos-release-ceph-hammer rpm so that it lands into extras
 ( https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=10285 ),
* Ceph upstream is preparing a Hammer dot release (
http://tracker.ceph.com/versions/505 ) which will be rebuilt and
tested as soon as it is available,
* decide whether to build infernalis or skip it and rebuild Jewel instead,
* complete and proofread the howto,
* add CI jobs to test releases.
