I agree that's strange. My IRC scrollback doesn't go back far enough to
check what I wrote back then.
But I definitely have only build pacific for c8s and AFAICR that's the only
centos-release-ceph-pacific
(CentOS-Ceph-Pacific) package that I (would have) asked to have built.

I don't understand the change you think is necessary.

If I change:
mirrorlist=
http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=storage-ceph-pacific
to:
mirrorlist=
http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?stream=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=storage-ceph-pacific

I get errors. That's the only place $release appears in the repo file.

I tried looking at a few other centos-release-* sources on git.centos.org
but couldn't find any that have
c8stream branches that I could copy.
