Yup - my "Memorex" USB key shows up as "Trek Technology (S) PTE, Ltd"

Dunno - Perhaps command and data channels?

Googling with the additional info got me nothing definitive.  Only thing
so far that seemed potentially relevant was about a memory card in an 8-
in-1 card reader:
