how about:

yum grouplist | sed -n "s/^   //p" | while read i; do echo yum -y groupinstall "\"$i\""; done

and then execute that...?

or even directly

yum grouplist | sed -n "s/^   //p" | while read i; do yum -y groupinstall "$i"; done
