There is a bug with glibc that causes it not to build on the newer
kernels (actually the bug is in the kernels, not glibc).

To get glibc to build, use either of the 2.6.9-5.x kernels.  Once you
rebuild glibc, you can boot back to the unsupported kernel.

If you don't have either of those kernels, you can get them at:
