The FC5 rpms almost build out of the box. Around line 311 in the spec file is
this: CFLAGS="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS -fno-strict-aliasing -Wno-pointer-sign" Changing
it to read: CFLAGS="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS -fno-strict-aliasing" got it to build for
me.

I stole this change from the Centos specfile for php-5.0. If someone would
like to comment on exactly what this does I would be greatful.

I have been running it for a couple of days with no apparent problems.

Also the pear packages are broken out in FC5 so you will also need to build
them. I did not change anything on the pear packages except for the version
string and adding comments in the changelog.

Hope this helps,
