If samba-swat hasn't been used all along, I'd suggest saving the
current Samba configuration files in /etc/samba.  I've had near
disasters using samba-swat if it wasn't used all along.

I'd suggest using system-config-samba, "Preferences -> Samba Users" as
a safer alternative.
