[CentOS] 3Ware 9550SX and latency/system responsiveness

I challenged the vendor about that quite early on and was told that 
they've used this combo before with no trouble, though I've yet to 
press them on this point - but yes, that's a possibility I've not 
ruled out.

The card's running the latest firmware that I know about, certainly 
the fw in codeset 9.4.1.2 is the version intended to go with the 
driver supplied in CentOS 4.5.

It's definitely in the right slot, not using a riser and it's running 
at the right speed:

//serv1> /c0 show all
[snip]
/c0 Controller Bus Type = PCIX
/c0 Controller Bus Width = 64 bits
/c0 Controller Bus Speed = 133 Mhz

I'll see if there's a motherboard BIOS update, thanks for the reminder on that.

If there is anyone on the list using a 9550SX with an H8DA8 could 
they let me know whether or not they're seeing anything similar to 
what I've described?
