I use NFS - stable solution, but if your looking more for redundancy, 
use the DRBD and heartbeat
solution you mentioned. I have quite a few system running this - it 
works very well. You may also
use Raid with DRBD. Sorry, I have never used iSCSI Target, looks 
interesting though.
