What you describe is probably that problem. Another guy on Amazon said that his printer mysteriously turned itself off one day. Thanks for the info! And the great clarification. I certainly don't want to buy a printer that's going to throw problems at me all the time. Sometimes I feel like the public has been turned into a bunch of beta testers for some of this new technology.
