Cubieboard2 - selinux enforcing fails

I had to rebuild me image from scratch, so this time, instead of permissive, I decided to set enforcing for selinux. I powered off and powered back on. What ever happened (and I can send the serial console to anyone wanting to review this), the system rebooted and came back around finally to login. Once I logged in, I saw that the ethernet was not available. So I am going to redo this and just leave selinux to disabled until we get further along (and someone else tests it out!). I am running all my systems behind two firewalls and will just have to rely on that for now.

Plague build servers / Compilations

Hello I have access to plague servers (thanks to Fabian for the live debug :p). I've tried to compil a package, and it was successfull. I see the job goes to my folder, but to go in the standard build queue, I need to requeue the original failed job, but I don't have access to it. rbf for olinuxino-micro

I've managed to create Fedora 22 image running on olinuxino-micro (with HDMI support! hooray! (:) ) using rbf script. My goal is of course CentOS7 but before that i have two issues: - i don't know how to generate /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf (in official Fedora image in comment it says it was generated by appliance-creator). Is there any (automated) way to do it properly? - rootpass.exp doesn't work, it hangs on 'passwd' command. If i kill it, rbf will continue, but of course root password won't be set. I tried to run rbf with LC_ALL=C but it doesn't help. -- Over And Out MoonWolf

Cubieboard2 Image

Per the previous thread regarding Test Platforms, I have uploaded the RBF output here: http://www.mininodes.com/uploads/cubieboard2-centos-image.img.tar.gz This file was built with all default options, no modifications whatsoever were made. I simply wrote it to an SD Card, inserted in my Cubieboard2, and it booted right up. Hope this helps. -David

Hello I made some others tests for Bananapi and Centos image. Image generated with rbf is 4.3GB. I think we should shrink it to 4GB to allow people use 4GB cards. selinux enforcing has messed up ethernet

No ethernet since trying to boot with selinux set to enforcing. I just booted with the F22 mSD card that worked just fine. No ethernet. I hope I don't have a dead board now. Help?

C7 arm graphical desktops

What desktops will be available? I vote for Xfce. I was interduced to it with Fedora-arm and I using it also on my Fedora x86_64 notebook. Low memory, low cpu, low battery consumption. Normally I will NOT have a gui on a server, but there are times...

Please add ntpd to minimum build

Probably be doing this anyway? but.. The first thing I have to do on a new image (other than set root password) is to get ntpd running to get the current date/time as no battery rtc. It is bad enough that all the boot messages have the wrong time, but at least to get the time as soon as possible. BTW, I suggested some time ago on the Fedora-arm list a service that regularly (perhaps every 5 min) writes the current date/time to a file. At boot time, a script reads this and sets the date/time so that the boot messages (and if network has problems) is closer to the actual time rather than reporting it is 1970.

nf_conntrack: automatic helper assignment is deprecated

On booting te Centos pre-alpha on my Cubietruck I always see: [ 42.855609] nf_conntrack: automatic helper assignment is deprecated and it will be removed soon. Use the iptables CT target to attach helpers instead. I see both firewalld and iptables installed on the original image.

So I set selinux to 'permissive' and rebooted. Took some time and a few interesting messages occured on the serial console like: [ 132.847434] systemd-readahead[302]: open(/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/policy.kern) failed: Too many levels of symbolic links Finally get the login prompt and log in on the serial console as root. I then move sshd to a different port. I have been doing this for years and know the selinux secret codes. First I need to: yum install policycoreutils-python Then: semanage port -a -t ssh_port_t -p tcp 745 firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=745/tcp firewall-cmd --reload vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config <- change port to 745, and that is not the real port number I use. systemctl restart sshd.service After the semanage command I got: [ 310.545666] SELinux: Permission audit_read in class capability2 not defined in policy. [ 310.554040] SELinux: Class binder not defined in policy. [ 310.559671] SELinux: the above unknown classes and permissions will be allowed But I am able to ssh into my server. So are these messages an indicator that things are not right? I of course want to move on the selinux 'targeted' to get this secure. I plan on putting bind on this unit and have it for my testing dns server. Advise?

Cubieboard2 sata boot

I am booted off sata by doing the following: I took David's image: http://www.mininodes.com/uploads/cubieboard2-centos-image.img.tar.gz And first dd it to a 4Gb mSD card. I used gparted to delete all three partitions. This way I was assured to get the uboot David used. Then I dd it to a 80Gb sata drive. I use gparted to increase the size of the / partition. I put the uboot only mSD card in the slot and attached to sata drive and it booted right up. Here is what the serial console showed. My test platforms

I only have one Cubietruck available for testing purposes. I have 2 - 4 Cubieboard2 units. To date, all of my work has been on this one Cubietruck. If I had an image for the Cubieboard2, I would put those into play. For example, I need a DNS server for my Samba development. I have that running on a F22 C2 right now. If I had a C2 image to work with, I would spin that up to replace F22. I did see that there was a successful test on the C2, but nowhere to get the image. Though if I DO spin up more platforms, I am going to have to get another Anker multi-port power supply: http://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerPort-Charging-Multi-Port-Charger/dp/B00VH8… I see they have come down $6 since I bought one last October. These work great in powering 5 Cubieboards each. But DON'T plug in a phone as well, or the smart logic will reduce the Amps to the Cubieboards to 1A which is bad.

I have installed mariadb to develop the dns backend. Still researching what tables are needed, but... I would like to have phpmyadmin, but that is part of epel. Could we at least start with the noarch rpms from epel7 (there IS an epel7?) and grow from there? I suppose I can bring in the epel7 repo and carefully install only noarch rpms...

Pro tip: You can probably get away with using any missing packages from F19 armv7hl, F19 and EL7 are very, very similar. F17 armv5tel packages on RSEL7 are also likely to work. Just bear in mind that those packages will be unmaintained as those distros are EOL so you will be on your own for any security patches for them. Gordan

armv7l pre-alpha - selinux

I see selinux is disabled in this pre-alpha image. Are there concerns running selinux on armv7 or is this simply a matter of get something together and then get everything working? I understand that there are 'issues?' enabling selinux on armv5, or is it a kernel, not hardware issue? My F22 system is running selinux enforceing. Should I turn on selinux on this pre-alpha? One of the reasons for the question is for bind9 - do I count on selinux or do I run it chrooted?

DIfference between bind C7-intel and C7-arm?

Look over at: https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=53761 This poster at least has a C7 bind with dlz support. On the bind I got in my Cubietruck pre-alpha (had to do a yum install bind), bind -V does not list any dlz options. Can someone with access to the building check this out? Perhaps also check out the aarch64 bind? I really need dlz support, or so it seems, for Samba4 AD.

VoIP FXS port?

Does anyone know of an VoIP FXS port other than the one for Raspberry PI: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=86601&p=716025 Or if this will work on other boards like my Cubies? One of the targets I have for C7-arm is a PBX and support for a fax machine to efax is a critical component particularly with the detarrifing of PSTN coming in the next few months (well rule making by FCC, we will see what each state does).

Missing packages compiled

Hello When I'm trying to install my favorites services on banana pi, I saw some packages missing from C7 pre-alpha repo. So I have compiled some packages on the BPi, using sources downloaded on my Centos7 x86_64. Actually I've compiled missing packages to install pcs (cluster system) : - corosync* - pacemaker* - sdb My repo is actually behind a low connection (above 1MB/s in upload), so it can't be use by all, but you can access it if you want to get the packages and add them to c7 armdev repos. http://repo.shivaserv.fr/centos/7/armv7hl/Packages/ I will add others packages in the future. sata boot

I have not tested this yet, as I am working on the sernet stuff first, but... The version of uboot we are using supports sata boot. Kind of. You still need a microSD card that ONLY has uboot on it. Thus it can be a small, cheap, mSD card. You put all of your partitions on your sata drive and it SHOULD boot right up. I have tested this in F22, but I have not done it yet with the pre-alpha and my Cubies. I believe it works with the BananaPi as well (and other Allwinner SOCs with sata). You cannot put uboot on NAND yet, don't try until Hans reports he has it working, and he has higher priority work items. If you want to boot from USB HD, ask me, and I will send you the notes Hans sent me; he is open to someone else doing the little bit of work for this and he would see it gets upstream. I have also ordered a sata multiplexer board that Hans uses. I want more than one sata drive on my file server. It also allows for RAID if that is your druthers. I will report when I get it working. Finally uboot 2015.10 is wrapping up and it probably will include Cubietruck WiFi support. Of course you can add a WiFi usb dongle now, but it will be nice to be able to use the included wifi.

samba sernet for arm

Sernet is the integrated Samba software: http://www.samba.plus/ Suppose to have everything you need for an AD, currently based on Samba 4.2. For RHEL/Centos, it has to provide its own Kerberos due to the different kerberos used by Redhat vs Samba. This is SUPPOSE to be fixed in Samba 4.3; perhaps this year. It IS available for Centos7-x86_64 at: https://portal.enterprisesamba.com/ But of course no arm builds there. If someone can help me with setting up the build environment, I would take a hack at building for armv7l. I don't know what they have done with the various pieces. I probably could just try for their Samba 4.1 which is the same version in Centos7. Anyone here interested in helping me out on this?

Has anyone worked with sernet? Can I expect it to build on C7-arm? Particularly the armv7l base? My current thrust with C7is to build a new Samba server. I would like to do a full AD, but that means sernet becuase of the Kerberos differences on Centos vs Samba AD. If I can't I can probably stay with my current NT domain model that is running on ClearOS and just move the config files. Note that ClearOS is on Samba 3.6.23.
