Hi, I am toying with the idea of getting a Gigabyte MP30-AR0 board (despite the insanely exorbitant price tag). Has anyone got the aarch64 CentOS working on one of those? Any special instructions? Also, if I get the ISO, is it bootable on aarch64? Does the installer work? Or does the image have to be used like on 32-bit ARM? Thanks. Gordan

Cubieboard2 - selinux enforcing fails

I had to rebuild me image from scratch, so this time, instead of permissive, I decided to set enforcing for selinux. I powered off and powered back on. What ever happened (and I can send the serial console to anyone wanting to review this), the system rebooted and came back around finally to login. Once I logged in, I saw that the ethernet was not available. So I am going to redo this and just leave selinux to disabled until we get further along (and someone else tests it out!). I am running all my systems behind two firewalls and will just have to rely on that for now.

UEFI on HiKey 96boards

Plague build servers / Compilations

Hello I have access to plague servers (thanks to Fabian for the live debug :p). I've tried to compil a package, and it was successfull. I see the job goes to my folder, but to go in the standard build queue, I need to requeue the original failed job, but I don't have access to it. pacemaker & corosync on armv7hl

Hi, I'm running CentOS7 ARM port on Raspberry PI 2 model B. Base system works fine but I noticed that not all RPM packages are available. For my testing purposes I needed pacemaker and corosync installed on RPi, but unfortunately it is still not in repo. I have built both corosync and pacemaker with tiny changes in spec-files: %if 0%{?rhel} - ExclusiveArch: i686 x86_64 s390x + ExclusiveArch: i686 x86_64 s390x armv7hl %endif May be some repo maintainer could build and push pacemaker/corosync to the repo? -- Ilyas

rbf for olinuxino-micro

I've managed to create Fedora 22 image running on olinuxino-micro (with HDMI support! hooray! (:) ) using rbf script. My goal is of course CentOS7 but before that i have two issues: - i don't know how to generate /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf (in official Fedora image in comment it says it was generated by appliance-creator). Is there any (automated) way to do it properly? - rootpass.exp doesn't work, it hangs on 'passwd' command. If i kill it, rbf will continue, but of course root password won't be set. I tried to run rbf with LC_ALL=C but it doesn't help. -- Over And Out MoonWolf

I am still working with the original images Johnny and David put up. And using the matching repo for additional rpms needed for my testing. I a now doing rebuilds to test out my setup process to make sure it works for when this beta ends and I do some clean builds. But: I do not know how to build an image that works via the RBF. I do not know if enough has been compiled to work with the lastest builds I want to be testing out the image build process as well as the rest. Please let me know where we stand and how to build images.

System monitoring

What tool do we have that can report system resources over time? I want to know what my systems are doing. How well the Cubies are dealing with whatever I am running on them. I have never really bothered with monitoring in the past. But I would like to really 'market' C7-armv7 as a solution and I will need some decent performance reports.

Can you point me in right direction? I'm trying to enable CAN driver for olinuxino. I managed to compile and insert module from https://github.com/GBert/sunxi-can-driver. But no device appeared in /dev (no messages in dmesg also). There is sun7i-a20.dtsi file in this repo, but i don't know what should i do with it. Any help? -- Over And Out MoonWolf

sernet Samba AD progress

Just to let you know that I have made considerable progress with the Centos7-armv7 based server on a cubietruck. There is a LOT of services that are needed for a Samba AD: Time keeping - I am using Chrony DNS - Bind DHCP - dhcpd Samba/ldap/kerberos - sernet cups is installed, but I am going to remove it from the AD. Lots of steps to get all this working. One of the regulars on the Samba list gave me a script to handle the dyndns via dhcp. He had to change what he had to work with Centos. The point here is I am exercising more than just the Sernet code that Nicolas so kindly built for me. I also have cups installed, but I am going to change my smb.conf to remove printing support on the AD; the file server should do that, so that is one less service needed. Right now with it I am seeing: # free total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 2062396 174948 1647400 24824 240048 1832628 Swap: 999420 0 999420 So it should run on a Cubieboard2 with only 1Gb memory.

Gnome group install

So on my Cubieboard2 image I did yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop" After some 800+ packages installed I rebooted. serial console is working and I am logged into it. But the monitor is showing just a grey screen with a mouse. No login.

System time

How is system time set at boot? Is ntpdate run after the network is ready? How long does it retry waiting for the network to be available? I have seen a number of challenges becuase the system time is back at the epoch start as there is no battery rtc. And I wonder how many armv7 boards have a battery to maintain time across boots? Minimally, a process could right the time, in the proper format, to a file, say /etc/currenttime every 5 min and at shutdown. Then date can be run early in the boot process, piping this file in. It would not be perfect and does not help, much for new installs, but better than epoch start. Plus /etc/currenttime can be at least set to the image build date/time so not even firstboot will be at epoch start. Opinions?

Per the previous thread regarding Test Platforms, I have uploaded the RBF output here: http://www.mininodes.com/uploads/cubieboard2-centos-image.img.tar.gz This file was built with all default options, no modifications whatsoever were made. I simply wrote it to an SD Card, inserted in my Cubieboard2, and it booted right up. Hope this helps. -David

Hello I made some others tests for Bananapi and Centos image. Image generated with rbf is 4.3GB. I think we should shrink it to 4GB to allow people use 4GB cards. Bind problems

My new test nameserver on the C7-arm code cannot resolve: 0.centos.pool.ntp.org but has not trouble resolving: www.ietf.org My old nameserver on the C6 bind 9.8.2 resolves both with no problems. Both servers have identical conf and zone files (with the necessary SOA changes on the new server). Either: problems with the bind pre-alpha code things have changed between 9.8 and 9.9 such that things are breaking (I have disabled dnssec, for example). Ideas?

maintenance on the plague buildfarm

I saw a potential impact on the local filesytem, and so a need to increase it (there was only 5GB+ free). Unfortunately, there is no possibility to "hot add" volumes on the scaleway nodes that we're currently using. So I have to power down the plague server itself, wait for the volume to be returned back to central store, and then add a bigger volume (through nbd) and restart it. I'm busy working on it right now, reason why the plague build farm will be unreachable during the maintenance.
