It would appear that above group isn't defined, but it is what mock uses to build a minimal development chroot. Is the omission of this group deliberate or accidental? I can add it trivially enough through a dummy repository containing nothing but a group definition, but I'm curious as to whether there is a good reason for this not being there in the first place. NXP Layerscape SoC Patch

Hi Jim, Attached please find the initial support patch for NXP Layerscape LS2080 SoC. This patch is based on 4.2 kernel and top of origin/sig-altarch7-aarch64 branch of git://git.centos.org/sig-altarch/kernel.git repo. RaspberryPi 3 image released

Hi, In the last couple of days I was busy on various things, but got help from Henrik Andersson (thanks a lot!) about bumping/fixing the kernel we used for the CentOS 7 image. The kernel was bumped to 4.1.19 and includes now additional patch for auditd+selinux support (yay !), and that kernel will also be used for the next Rpi2 image build Auditd works fine but there is still some issues with the kernel (built from sources) from rpi and the default selinux policy, meaning that actually the image is shipped in Permissive mode only. The emdeded wifi nic works, but needs manual intervention (written in the /root/README file) as one needs to download the needed firmware for that broadcom chip. I wanted to provide a bit of warning for upcoming aarch64/arm64 repository changes, as they may impact users with local mirrors. 1. I'm re-spinning the install media based on newer kernel patches I've pulled in from some vendors. This will allow the installer to support some of the newer hardware that's recently become available. 2. In order to enable the aarch64 community builder, I've had to more closely align some of the aarch64 packages with the main distribution packages. This is primarily to deal with how noarch packages are handled. The end result of this change is that the repo file will now contain two gpg keys, so if you've set up your own mirror and customized the repo file, you'll need to modify your updated file similarly. Hi Community, I was learning RPM packaging in the past week and I recently got my hands on a Raspberry Pi 3 in the last CentOS Dojo here in Bangalore, India (thanks to the CentOS team). In my use case, for OpenSSL and Crypto++, its about development and validation testing for the architecture. For us, 128 GB of RAM is overkill (though I would not turn it down). The real hardware gets us out of Debian QEMU/Chroot's. We've had a few issues with the hand crafted assembly. We could not debug it because GDB was broken in the chroot. Moving to real hardware allowed us to debug the issues. We've also had troubles with -O3 and vectorization that seems to become more prevalent on real hardware. I'm also told the multimedia stuff runs a little faster under ARMv8 because of the register width and vectorization, but I generally don't use those features. ARM64 is currently a mild pain point for the beta-1 release of OpenSSL 1.1.0, and its directly because of the testing on that Hikey. In short, the processes and testing ensures folks like you don't have any troubles when you use the libraries on real servers :) Jeff

Hi my name is Stephen Smoogen, and I am joining the CentOS ARM group to help on getting EPEL packages ported to this version of the OS. I have worked in CentOS back in the EL-5 days doing some QA and other work as needed. I am currently working in Fedora Project in the infrastructure group with a primary interest in EPEL. I will be ordering a RaspPi 2 (or 3 if that is what I get) to do the testing on. I will also be working on any build issues that I can. -- Stephen J Smoogen.
