Gigabyte MP30-AR0

Hi, I am toying with the idea of getting a Gigabyte MP30-AR0 board (despite the insanely exorbitant price tag). Has anyone got the aarch64 CentOS working on one of those? Any special instructions? Also, if I get the ISO, is it bootable on aarch64? Does the installer work? Or does the image have to be used like on 32-bit ARM? Thanks. Gordan

Request for a new package: raspberrypi-vc

Hello, Following the Fabian Arrotin recommendation, I open here the request to include the 'raspberrypi-vc' package into the CentOS 7 EPEL repository, or in the main tree. This package includes a command called 'vcgencmd' which offers a set of interesting values of the Raspberry Pi board; e.g. its temperature. Check here <http://www.elinux.org/RPI_vcgencmd_usage> for more information. I've downloaded the SRPM package from here <http://www.squeezecommunity.org/repo/fedora/24/pi/SRPMS/raspberrypi-vc-2016…>, and I realized that it was pretty easy to build on a full-updated CentOS 7 (kernel 4.4.14-v7). rng-tools missing and /dev/hwrng without driver

Hi, today I will report a problem that is released to ipa-server. This server contains a certificate authority and such service need many entropy. The default on CentOS 7 on a Banana PI is not enough, i.e. $(cat /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail) is less than 1000. I have solved this in meantime by installing and enabling of haveged from the EPEL repository. Normally it would be done by installing the rng-tools. But there are two problems: 1. The rng-tools was not in the repositories, so I have downloaded rng-tools-5-8.fc24.armv7hl.rpm because this are the same version which is included in CentOS 7.3 for x86_64. 2. This rng-tools are usable but the daemon starts and stops immediately with the following error message: # rngd -v /dev/hwrng: No such device /dev/tpm0: No such file or directory No entropy sources found, exiting This is not the problem of this binary it is a problem of the Kernel. /dev/hwrng exists and if I remove it then it reappears after reboot, but # ls -l /dev/hwrng crw-------. 1 root root 10, 183 1. Jan 1970 /dev/hwrng # udevadm info -a -n /dev/hwrng Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then walks up the chain of parent devices. It prints for every device found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format. A rule to match, can be composed by the attributes of the device and the attributes from one single parent device. looking at device '/devices/virtual/misc/hw_random': KERNEL=="hw_random" SUBSYSTEM=="misc" DRIVER=="" ATTR{rng_current}=="none" ATTR{rng_available}=="" there is no driver for this device. I have searched and found this link http://forum.lemaker.org/thread-23618-1-1.html which includes a link to the full story. If I read all right then on bananian /dev/hwrng appears only if the adapted or a more actual sun4i-ss.ko module is loaded (there is written: "module author has indicated this will be going into the mainline kernel shortly“). This module is also loaded on a Banana PI with current CentOS 7. So does the kernel of CentOS 7.3 for ARM32 include this patch and if yes why it does not work or otherwise why this device appears but has no driver? Kernel for BananaPi R1 (Lamobo R1)

Hello Guys, I have been compiling the Fedora 4.4.2-300 kernel for Centos , using the new Centos image for the Banana-pi . I have used the Fedora src rpm and then added the patch for the switch drivers specific for R1 (Lamobo R1) , then compiled it within the Centos dev arm environment I have . I ran into a couple of things : one cosmetic , the other one not so . Customizing Chronyd for no battery

Fellow armv7-without-rtc-battery users. Maybe you have already learned this, but I THINK I have completed my education on this thanks to Miroslav Lichvar on the Chrony list. There are two issues here: It takes time for chronyd to set the system time. And if it fails to reach the ntp servers, well, it failed to set the time. For the first, we need to delay some services from starting until chronyd is successful. Postfix is one of them. So we need the following commands: systemctl enable chrony-wait systemctl start chrony-wait sed -i '/^After=/ s/$/ time-sync.target/w /dev/stdout' /usr/lib/systemd/system/postfix.service There are some possible instances where you also want to do this to httpd.service, but I have been advised on the postfix list NOT to run postfix if the systemtime is earlier than the postfix build date $ postconf -dh mail_release_date 20130622 Plus the postfix.service runs aliases.db which will mess up your aliases.db timestamp. Next there is that pesky issue about what if no ntp servers reached? First: cat <<EOF>/etc/sysconfig/chronyd || exit 1 OPTIONS=" -s" EOF Since Centos7 has Chronyd 2.1.1, not 2.2, we have extra work to do in chronyd.conf: cat <<EOF>>/etc/chrony.conf || exit 1 rtcdevice /dev/doesnotexist EOF I am adding this to my basic server howto page.

It is also touch sensitive, once everything is loaded I can run ts_calibrate and calibrate the touchscreen portion of the device. I am currently in the process of installing a full UI to test functionality properly. I will endeavour to find a space on wiki.centos.org<http://wiki.centos.org> to record my findings. Centos RPI3 with Pitft 3.5 Resistive

Hi Guys, I have been able to successfully install and configure one of the adafruit touch TFT screens. I am up to the point where the screen displays at the correct orientation and I can also get ts_calibrate from the libts library working properly. Hi, if I look into the logs under 18030-ipa-4.4.0-14.el7.centos.7 then I see that it was not build successfully but the error looks for me !!! like an internal error: http://armv7.dev.centos.org/repodir/c71611-updates-1/repodata/242e67b81f474…: [Errno 14] HTTPS Error 404 - Not Found How such problems are handled? The build of the following package (18031-irqbalance-1.0.7-6.el7_3.1) has also failed. Is this an automatic process which tries it only once?
