Gigabyte MP30-AR0

Hi, I am toying with the idea of getting a Gigabyte MP30-AR0 board (despite the insanely exorbitant price tag). Has anyone got the aarch64 CentOS working on one of those? Any special instructions? Also, if I get the ISO, is it bootable on aarch64? Does the installer work? Or does the image have to be used like on 32-bit ARM? Thanks. Gordan

centos 7 64 bit on raspberry Pi 3

Hello, I was wondering if there is a procedure for installing Centos 7 on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ while installing Centos 7.5 on armhfp is very clear and documented given that a raw root image is provided and you just "dd" it on the memory card, it is not clear to me how to do it with aarch64. A ISO image is provided but how to install it on the raspberry ? thank you Rick

epel-release and elrepo-release availability for centos armv7?

I have an Rpi 3B that I just installed Centos7 on today and had a couple questions: * Is CentOS 8 available yet for this device? What's the general state of support for Raspbery Pis and CentOS 8 currently? * I'd like to setup wireguard, and normally that requires using epel-release and elrepo-release, which contain "kmod-wireguard" and "wireguard-tools" packages. It doesn't seem like I can install the epel-release repo, so I'm not sure where I can source these? What's my best option? Thank you. GN

Relative Performance Between MP30-AR1 and SynQuacer

Does anyone have any details on the relative performance of the MP30-AR0/AR1 and the Linaro 96boards SynQuacer? I cannot find anything directly comparable, particularly in terms of general compile performance. MP30-AR1: 8x 2.4GHz cores SynQuacer: 24x 1GHz cores On the fact of it, the SynQuacer might provide up to about a 20% performance improvement on a heavily parallelizable task, but the MP30-AR1 would beat it by a significant margin on any workload that isn't heavily parallelizable. As far as I can tell, the performance per clock on both seems to be fairly similar. Has anyone got any directly comparable performance numbers, e.g. "make allmodconfig && make -j" on a kernel?

AES / SSH Performance on aarch64

I'm finding that ssh on my Gigabyte MP30-AR1 is rather slow, presumably because there are no AES instructions or mitigating optimisations for AES. Is NEON AES implemented in OpenSSL / OpenSSH package builds on EL8 on aarch64? All of the old ciphers that were faster (e.g. arcfour) have long been removed from OpenSSH, so does anyone have any other tricks for getting more out of ssh on aarch64? I'm specifically looking for an ssh optimisation here, I'm hoping to avoid implementing a bypass hack in the workflow (e.g. setting up netcat over ssh and using that for transfers). Many thanks.
