I2C in Centos 7

Hello, I am running Centos on a raspberry pi 2b. (I downloaded the image from: http://people.centos.org/hughesjr/armv7hl/rpi2/images/ rpi2-centos-image.img.xz ) and installed the i2c libraries and modules for i2c. [root@rpi2-2 ~]# lsmod | grep i2c i2c_bcm2708 5006 0 i2c_dev 6027 0 From what I read that should be correct device file is there too: crw------- 1 root root 89, 1 Dec 31 1969 i2c-1 kernel: Linux rpi2-2 3.18.14-v7+ #794 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jun 7 12:50:51 BST 2015 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux However, when I scan the i2c bus with 'i2cdetect -y 1' I don't see any devices (and I tried 2 that I know work). is the I2C stuff in this kernel working? (or is there a newer kernel version?) thanks, Ron P.S. I know this is an arm-dev list, but figured the I2C topic would fit better here than in a general Centos list

building AArch64 CentOS kernel from git

Hi All, I want to patch and rebuild a CentOS 7 kernel. I've checked out git clone https://git.centos.org/git/sig-altarch/kernel.gitand am on branchsig-altarch7-aarch64 then I run rpmbuild and I'm told I missing the kernel source: error: File /home/build/kernel/SOURCES/linux-4.5.0-15.el7.tar.xz: No such file or directory The source isn't present so I assume it must be else where... I've search around for this file and haven't located it. I would really appreciate help finding it - or corrections to my approach. any thoughts? best regards,Richard

Support for CubieTruck Plus (CB5)

I am considering getting a CubieTruck Plus. I see we have the uboot: /usr/share/uboot/Cubietruck_plus/u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin But not the dtb in /boot/dtb-4.4.42-202.el7.armv7hl/ Anyone have information on the CB5 support? Of course, I may just go for that 64bit board Uli mentioned the other day. Considering that SELinux is not working right in the armv7 Cubie images. Bob

dragonboard 410c

There is an IoT meeting in the Detroit area Monday night with the Dragonboard 410c. I see it was listed as possible 64 bit boards back in the beginning of this list. Does anyone have one with Centos7-arm64 on it? Want to know if I should bother to attend. The specs for the board does not show it having a sata interface and only 1Gb memory. So not so interesting. It is a quad-core; I really want to upgrade my mailserver from the duo-core CubieTruck to more cores. Looking at the CubieTruck5... Bob

Nit error in web instructions - Chronyd already installed

I just built a fresh CubieTruck install and booted it up (of course partitions on the HD, and only uboot on a 4Gb mSD card). I did not log in right away, and when I did, I noticed the time was correct. armv7 SELinux problems and also the new kernel

Tomorrow I will actually have some testing time. I would like to get something working on my Cubietruck. Has anyone any idea about what to do with the SELinux errors I reported here back in December? And guidance on installing and testing the new kernel. It does not look like they are in a repo and that I have to download the proper rpms and upgrade them? And which do I upgrade? thank you Bob

I just downloaded http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/aarch64/CentOS-7-aarch64.img.xz uncompressed it. Read the readme.txt dd if=CentOS-7-aarch64.img of=/dev/sdd bs=2M conv=fsync && sync; put the new SD card in the PI3 and connected power I got nothing. my SD card is 32G. I tried the 32bit image and that booted and ran fine. So my hardware is Ok. Thoughts? Jerry
