Hi Jim, In addition to the patches that I just recently sent, can you please help to integrate the attached patches to sig-altarch7-aarch64. + 1038-add-support-mpt3sas-33xx-32xx-chipsets.patch This patch is to add LSI vendor ID and device ID for LSI 33xx and LSI 32xx SAS IO controllers. This will also enable mpt3sas driver to support these chipsets. This patch was partially backport for Centos 7.3 to enable those pciids and we don't need other code. (Ref: b130b0d mpt3sas: Added support for high port count HBA variants) + 1039-misc-fix-pca955x-pm80xx-mpt3sas.patch This is a roll up of the following upstreamed patch for adding miscellaneous fix for pca955x, pm80xx, mpt3sas. aace34c leds: pca955x: Correct I2C Functionality. e83596b pm80xx: Remove bogus address masking in pm8001_ioremap(). 83c3d34 mpt3sas: Fix panic when aer correct error occurred. Anything to note about the new kernelll? Trivial question, why is it 4.9.30-203 and not 4.9.30-204, replacing 4.9.13-203? Also how do people claim to have the linux box up for 6 mo or more when kernel updates come out more frequently than that? Not that I mind having to install a new kernel... thanks Bob

CONFIG_HZ for arm64

Hi Jim and all, I notice that CONFIG_HZ_1000=y in config-generic, and CONFIG_HZ=100 in config-generic. This will result in a final .config for arm64 with CONFIG_HZ_1000=y CONFIG_HZ=1000 instead of 100 as intended. config-arm64 needs to be changed to specify CONFIG_HZ_100=y instead of CONFIG_HZ=100, so the final dotconfig will be CONFIG_HZ_100=y CONFIG_HZ=100 Please comment. -Phong

Missing xhci-platform.ko in initramfs

Hi Jim, We are working on our next-gen SATA IP and it no longer requires xhci-xgene driver but instead would work with just the standard ahci-platform driver. On testing this, we just realize that ahci-platform.ko is present in CentOS installer initrd, but on installation completion, it is missing from initramfs. We would appreciate if you can take care of this for the next build. -Phong

rng-tools missing and /dev/hwrng without driver

Hi, today I will report a problem that is released to ipa-server. This server contains a certificate authority and such service need many entropy. The default on CentOS 7 on a Banana PI is not enough, i.e. $(cat /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail) is less than 1000. I have solved this in meantime by installing and enabling of haveged from the EPEL repository. Normally it would be done by installing the rng-tools. But there are two problems: 1. The rng-tools was not in the repositories, so I have downloaded rng-tools-5-8.fc24.armv7hl.rpm because this are the same version which is included in CentOS 7.3 for x86_64. 2. This rng-tools are usable but the daemon starts and stops immediately with the following error message: # rngd -v /dev/hwrng: No such device /dev/tpm0: No such file or directory No entropy sources found, exiting This is not the problem of this binary it is a problem of the Kernel. /dev/hwrng exists and if I remove it then it reappears after reboot, but # ls -l /dev/hwrng crw-------. 1 root root 10, 183 1. Jan 1970 /dev/hwrng # udevadm info -a -n /dev/hwrng Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then walks up the chain of parent devices. It prints for every device found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format. A rule to match, can be composed by the attributes of the device and the attributes from one single parent device. looking at device '/devices/virtual/misc/hw_random': KERNEL=="hw_random" SUBSYSTEM=="misc" DRIVER=="" ATTR{rng_current}=="none" ATTR{rng_available}=="" there is no driver for this device. I have searched and found this link http://forum.lemaker.org/thread-23618-1-1.html which includes a link to the full story. If I read all right then on bananian /dev/hwrng appears only if the adapted or a more actual sun4i-ss.ko module is loaded (there is written: "module author has indicated this will be going into the mainline kernel shortly“). This module is also loaded on a Banana PI with current CentOS 7. So does the kernel of CentOS 7.3 for ARM32 include this patch and if yes why it does not work or otherwise why this device appears but has no driver?
