Help on SElinux

I come over here from the RedSleeve-Users list. RedSleeve's minimal EL6 distribution has SELinux disabled, in part because of no support in the armv5 kernels. But I am using an armv7 (Cubieboard2) with the F19 kernel which DOES have SELinux working (I tried it to be sure). But I cannot get SELinux working on my RedSleeve build, so I was hoping there might be some expertise here to find out what is missing. I have posted my RSEL build guide for the Cubieboard on the Redsleeve list; I expect that at some point I will be getting it on the wiki. But I can supply a compressed SDcard image that will just boot up on a 8Gb SDcard (minimum size of 7960Mb). But when I take that image, install: system-config-securitylevel selinux-policy policycoreutils-python rebooted, and no SElinux running. # sestatus SELinux status: disabled And no semanage commands work. But the config file shows it should be enforcing. So can I get some help on this here? Or do I have to work around no SELinux support until the group here gets Centos 7 ported to arm. thanks

Xen on Cubieboards

Dr. Jon Crowcroft over at Cambridge (an old IETF friend), just told me that they have a XEN port to the Cubieboard. If that is of interest to anyone here, I plan on getting more information. I have never entered into the world of virtualization (other than VM on old IBM iron), but might give it a try. Particularly if Jon gets one of his students to help me along...

what boards do we all have ?

There are many ARM machines including the hugely popular Sheva/Guru/Dream Plugs and R-Pi that are < ARMv7. They all meet the spec you list but won't work if the distro is targeting armv7hl. My lost of ARMv5 hardware is: ShevaPlug GuruPlug DreamPlug QNAP TS-421 (NAS) All of the above are Marvell Kirkwood based. ARMv6: VIA APC ARMv7: Toshiba AC100 (Tegra 2) Compulab TrimSlice (Tegra 2) Samsung Chromebook 1 (Exynos) Cornfed Conserved (iMX6) Solidrun Cubox-i (iMX6?) Arndale OCTA (Samsung?) My next planned acquisition as far as ARM machines are concerned is Chromebook 2. Getting started / Build machines

Hi, I have a bundle of armv7 machines here and quite some interest in running CentOS7 on them at a point not too far into the future. So, given that we have more hardware than sysadmin-time available, but can invest some of our time to this, What can we do to assist / help? Is anyone helped by access to hardware? If so, we can set up the machines to tftp boot and give development access to them over ssh. Are you more helped by setting up automated build systems? If so, how do I get started (Deployment guide, documentation ,what has to be installed and where do I start would be welcome) Are things in the point where it can already run and work? Fedora 19 installed and ready to figure out next step

I have just built a Fedora 19 SD card for my Cubieboard 2 following: http://docs.cubieboard.org/tutorials/cb2/installation/cb2_fedora_19_card_in… The serial console shows: Fedora release 19 (Schrödinger’s Cat) Kernel 3.4.61.sun7i+ on an armv7l (ttyS0) I have read through the various posts from earlier this month. I wish I could figure out how to load them into Thunderbird for working with. But I am basically clueless on the next step. Gordon said: Technically, as Karanbir said, you don't have to run F19 on the build host, just use the F19 respository for mock builds. OTOH, for first pass you may find it a lot faster to install F19 (install _all_ packages), and instead of mock, use just straight rpm to build the first pass. Well I have SOME stuff installed and I really am not getting what next. I will try and read the old posts again, but cookbooks are best with me here. BTW, I WAS working on F21 alpha but found out that SUNXI has not done the video for this yet and it is listed as 'hard to do'. Since video SEEMS to work alright (Lxde desktop) with the F19 remix I am leaving much of F21 alone to work on Centos instead.

Ready to do test builds on a Cubieboard (Allwinner A20)

So far I have one Cubieboard 2, and am debating getting another one or a Cubietruck. Same processor but 1Gb ethernet, 802.11, and 2Gb memory. C2 is 100Mb ethernet and 1Gb memory. On my Cubie 2 I have a Fedora 20 install and trying to find out how to get a F 21 setup going. When you do a SD install, you mess up the builtin Android and have to do a SD Android setup, which I have not figured out yet (too many of the instructions are in Chinese). I have LOTS of 8 and 16 GB microSD cards for different build tests. I see Karanbir's post back on July 2: >get a fedora19 armv7 repo up locally, write a mock config to point at >it, and then run that mock builder against the centos7 srpms. So how do I do this, I have very little experience in doing builds and such. I suppose I might be able to help out by putting instructions on Centos docs. Provided I get some instructions :)

Reasonable help?

Hi, I have one arm machine waiting for a new challenge and some linux and programming skills and was asking myself, if there is anything I could do to support the process of building CentOS for arm? Unfortunately I have no experience in setting up a building environment for linux. So, what do you think? Is there anything I can do to help and if yes, what is the best way to start? Is there a guide I can use to get into it? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction (or telling me to better wait for the finished arm build :-) ), Thomas

Hi, I noticed this project was finally starting to happen so I thought I'd sign up and see if there is any way I can help. Is there a rolling CentOS7 ARMv7 package set/repository somewhere downloadable? I also noticed there were quite a few familiar names on this list - hello to you all. :) Best regards.
