Wow, three threads in two days, I promise to be less loquacious from now on. Anyways, I've decided to run CentOS over Whitebox on my firewall because of the timeliness of updates. Is there some way I can assist in the CentOS effort? It would be nice if there were a "wanted" section on y'all's web site detailing ways to assist with CentOS, if any. --Shawn -- -- Shawn M. These packages have been rebuilt but should be the same as the previous release: Xconfigurator These packages have been modified: initscripts If /etc/centos-release is missing then /etc/redhat-release is used instead. An error about the missing file is no longer displayed. error in cron.daily email report

after i updated to 3.3....in my daily email report for /etc/cron.daily i get the following: many times over anyone know what may be causing it? i have search google zcat: stdout: Broken pipe then the last thing to show is my script to run my awstats updates i didnt have this problem before i updated to 3.3 i have read on google that i might be a $LANG setting issue

i have not made any changes my yum.conf file, still using the default one that is installed. so i should be ok after everything is released?

are the centOS-3.3 isos available and ready for download? i need to d/l a set and didnt want to download the 3.1 isos if the 3.3 isos are available now.

I am currently running centOS-3.1. I have not received any package updates since Sept 1. Is this in part due to creating new isos which would be named centOS-3.3. How would I go about updating my system from centOS-3.1 to centOS-3.3, or would I even need to and just keep downloading updates like i do now. My system is running very smoothly with no errors or issues, I was just wondering why there hasnt been any package updates available. Would it be necessary to download the new isos and upgrade my system? Will the package updates be available still for centOS-3.1.

so i can just edit my yum.conf file replacing $releasever with 3.3, run yum update and ill be running 3.3? also, i should have any unusual issues?

Hi all, Here's what's going on. The 3.3 tree is built. All the updates are built. It's all ready to go. I'm going to merge in all the package changes from 3.1 to 3.3 (including centos-release) into the 3.1/updates path. Then when you run yum update you'll be running 3.3. However! If your /etc/yum.conf file does not use $releasever to specify repositories then you won't get any new updates to 3.3. More announcements coming as I have time. Sorry. -sv
