Creating CentOS DVD from scratch

I've found discussion about this in list archives, but no final answers. Many helpfull people wrote in the past how to avoid creating DVD (install from network, install from disk, boot this way, boot that way). But, I do need DVD, no way around it. No network, no USB, no floppy, no anything. Placing files on hard drive not an option. Just a DVD-ROM. By Googling around, I found some pointers how to do it for Red Hat 8/9 and Fedora Core. Basically, something along the lines: mkisofs -o centos-dvd.iso -V 'CentOS 4.0' \ -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat \ -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table \ -r -J -T . I am able to boot from this DVD image, however Anaconda does not recognize it as CentOS installation CD/DVD. I guess it is either checking volume label or .diskinfo file (or whatever it is called). Has anyone else noticed that firefox is less stable after the recent security update? Error on compiling kernel :: CentOS 4

Hi, I'm trying to recompile CentOS stock kernel, and after making my choices (make menuconfig), i run "make" and imediatly get this error (after my signature). Yes, i have the kernel source installed :P Any help would be apreciated. Stupid Question I know...

I'm wanting my Centos 4.0 box to boot up into TEXT mode, like all of my other Linux servers do. Unfortunately, it only boots into graphics mode and there's some issue with the keyboard (it controls the mouse, very poorly). I can SSH into the box so I can re-config it.. But just don't know where to look in this new version. I tried GRUB.CONF and even the SYSTEM_CONFIG programs.. No luck. Thanks. Scott

yum update dependency problem CentOS 3

On the most recent errata, I am getting a dependency conflict: [root@lists etc]# yum update Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3 - Addons Server: CentOS-3 - Base Server: CentOS-3 - Extras Server: CentOS-3 - Updates Finding updated packages Downloading needed headers Resolving dependencies .conflict between gtk2 and librsvg2 [root@lists etc]# I looked in the yum.log, but only found successes in there. I tried updating each one individually, and librsvg2 reports as being current. So, I am at a loss as to how/where to go from here. Any hint or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks. Sean.

PHP RPM with t1lib?

I have a clean install of CentOS 4 running on a box which will be an image generator. One of the requirements is t1lib support compiled into PHP. I don't want to go away from a fully RPM based system, so I don't want to compile PHP from source. Does anyone have an RPM with t1lib compiled in or is there a way to build my own RPM with the t1lib support compiled in? TIA! Mike
