Thanks, I succesfully got it via yum. If I were 20 and still in a learning mood I'd have compiled it all myself :). Thanks a miilion! Is there a command in CentOS4 or some small program to display a short message everywhere possible on a box much like # shutdown -k now "Display me where I'll be seen", but without the added (normal) stuff? xmessage would probably be usable if it had an -onalldesktops option. BTW, the purpose is to add a visual to the scripts I have in place to remind me to connect my external USB drive late Tuesday, disconnect it early Wednesday (after backup) and keep it out of the reach of "Murphy" for the rest of the week.

List, It's amazing the soon the messages on this list are answered, I am glad and I want to thank you all for that... Here is my question, I have a DataBase CentOS server working with about 150 users connected via ssh, so I want to set up for all users strongs passwords, I mean, 8 or more caracters, with ,.;* , ect....... Is there some option, bash command which do that? Is there some HOWto, tutorial, rules about securing, monitoring users with access to the bash shell? (They login via ssh). Regards, Israel Garcia

looking for repositories..

Please, Where can I find a list of repositories all over internet.. I want to keep my CentOS servers up 2 date with mailscanner, clamAV, syslog-ng, and others... I know dag has a very goog one but there are some paktes I can not find in dag repository like mailscanner, syslog-ng, among others... Sorry if it's offtopic but I need it! Gnome CD/DVD Burner?

Hi all, Wondering if this might be a good item for either CentOSPlus or even Extras repository. I've been looking for a decent CD/DVD burner for Gnome.... at present I load up k3b (KDE app) and thus much of the KDE environment). Someone pointed me to GraveMan (http://www.nongnu.org/graveman/ ) which looks very good. All reports is that it's lean, mean and quite stable. Anyone else using it and is it worthy of placing in the repository? Cheers, Matt.

I'm attempting to install a gnucash rpm I've come across but the dependency list is long. I've searched high and low and can't find a nice yum repo with it and all of it's dependencies. Does anyone know if it lives in a yum repo anywhere? I'm getting lazy in my old age(just turned 30) and I just wanna "yum install" it rather than tracking it all down like I would've 10 years ago :)
