additional yum repos for 4.3

Hi; On my Fedora Systems [/etc/yum.repos.d] I have the following repos: dag.repo dries.repo fedora-extras.repo fedora.repo fedora-updates.repo freshrpms.repo livna.repo Two questions: 1) Where can I get a .repo file (with centos url's of course) for the baseic stuff like updates and extras. 1b) Can I use redhat repos? 2) What about the other guys, livna, dag, dries, freshrpms. Which one of these is safe to use on a production server in conjunction with the repos used in answer to question 1 above? 2b Are the url's the same? Thank you all. nat, a centos newbie.

SAMBA and Clamav

Dear Friends, When I configure the SMB.CONF to using active clamav with vfs the directory shared don't more access. CentOS 3.6 yum update signiture question

Greetings all - I just downloaded the 3.6 isos, and installed them. I had no problems on the install. When I did a yum -y update to catch everything up, it ran for a while, then I got the following error message: ------- Downloading Packages warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 025e513b Error: Could not find the GPG Key necessary to validate pkg /var/cache/yum/update/packages/netpbm-devel-9.24-11.30.4.i386.rpm Error: You may want to run yum clean or remove the file: /var/cache/yum/update/packages/netpbm-devel-9.24-11.30.4.i386.rpm Error: You may also check that you have the correct GPG keys installed [root@susan root]# ------- I ran yum clean and deleted the file as suggested, with no change. Does this file use a different key than the others? Is there something else I need to download to make this work? YUM Plugins: I seem to be "unplugged"?

Have followed all instructions, googled and read Johnny's November post, went to Duke (not physically, web-spherically, although it's only 45 minutes away),... and still can't see how I have protectbase operational. Installed: [root@wlmlfs08 ~]# yum -C --disablerepo=rpmforge list|grep yum centos-yumconf.noarch 4-4.5 installed yum.noarch 2.4.2-2.centos4 installed yum-plugin-fastestmirror.noarch 0.2.4-3.c4 installed yum-utils.noarch 0.5-1.c4 installed yumex.noarch 0.99.11-1.0.c4 installed Haven't been able to find a protect base python plugin from CentOS, although I clearly recall it being said that CentOS supported it and the fastest mirrors. Need to get it from the Duke plugin web page? Or what did I do wrong? TIA -- Bill

CentOS FastTrack repository

The upstream provider has started a new channel called fastrack. It is detailed here (see the whole thread): https://www.redhat.com/archives/nahant-list/2006-April/msg00001.html CentOS will also build the fastrack SRPMS. We have created separate repositories in CentOS-3 and CentOS-4 called fasttrack. (I know the spelling is different, that is by design. We don't want to use the name of the upstream provider's program. Same as our use of CSGFS for Cluster Suite / Global File System, and not the upstream acronyms.) The purpose of the CentOS-FastTrack repo is to provide Bugfix and Enhancement updates for people who choose to do these updates BETWEEN the point releases. For example, there are currently 7 SRPMS that have been built for the CentOS-4 fasttrack repo ... they are here: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/fasttrack/SRPMS/ These changes (or maybe newer ones for those packages) will be rolled into the CentOS-4.4 when the time comes. What fasttrack will do is level out the update cycle for those who want to do bugfix and enhancement updates that way ... the packages are fully tested and part of the CentOS tree. If you want to get the latest bugfix and enhancement updates as soon as they are available, you can use the fasttrack repo. If you want your bugfix and enhancements to happen exactly as they do now (at point release time), don't use the fasttrack repo. Security updates will continue to happen as they do now. ------------------ To enable the fasttrack repo for CentOS-4, save this .repo file: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/fasttrack/CentOS-fasttrack.repo to your /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory. ---------------- To enable fasttrack for CentOS-3, you will need to add an entry in your /etc/yum.conf file. See this Readme for instructions on that entry: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/3/fasttrack/Readme.txt Before anyone asks ... CentOS-3.7 is in progress; therefore, the CentOS-3 fasttrack repo is currently not populated. If will be populated shortly after CentOS-3.7 is released. --------------- CentOS does not CONTAIN the upstream provider's product and is not affiliated in any way with the upstream provider or their products. CentOS is built from publicly available, open source SRPMS. Dovecot 1.0.something rpm for CentOS?

Is anyone using successfully a specific rpm of Dovecot 1.0.something? There's nothing on dag and a few on rpmfind (for Fedora Core), but I don't know if they'd work. The one coming with Centos 4 (0.99.11) has quite a few bugs and I'd like to put an upgrade on top of it. Trying to install on IBM eseries with Adaptec 9405 SAS. Fail to install / recognized SAS. Download from IBM RHE4 driver ... unfortunately did not help. Clarification Needed: DAG vs. rpmforge.

Dag in the thread about kvirc, I had pointed to dries repo, based on a list of repos I use *now*, that replaced your repo with rpmforge. This based on an instruction earlier that I should use rpmforge instead. So when I run my "yum --enablerepo=\* list...", it did not show your repo contents. Should I be including *both* rpmforge and dag? TIA Bill

3ware 9550SX and CentOS

I'm getting a couple of systems that are arriving with the new 3ware 9550sx controller. Does anyone know when this will be natively supported by CentOS? Has anyone built an RPM of the driver/module for this new controller?
