Wield CPU load problem??

Recently we installed CENTOS 4.4 on DELL 2650 server. We found CPU load always on 3 and up if we run "top" or "w" to check. qmake on centos 5

I have done a "yum install qt-devel" on centos 5. I dont seem to be able to find qmake? how do I get qmake on centos 5? THanks, jerry

CentOS 4.4 Installation on Dell poweredge 2900 raid 1 + raid 5 fail

Hi All, I install CentOS 4.4 without additional driver disk. When I partition the disk, I create nothing on the raid 5, and I just create " / " " /boot " and "swap" on the raid 1. And it works. When I create a mount point /storage on the raid 5 and create " / " " /boot " and "swap" on the raid 1. The error comes again, saying that there are inconsistency on the raid /dev/sdb1 What should I do? Regards, Fung

Last time I did this I had to add Option "DesktopSetup" "horizontal" under the first device section. I don't have the card anymore so I can't check my config. CentOS 5 Xen Files Left in /var/lib/xen ..

I have a machine with four guests on it, and it seems to create and leave lots of files with names like vmlinuz.LqKA3h and initrd.kolvQu in directory /var/lib/xen. The remain there even when all guests are gracefully shut down .. and additional ones get created when they are next started. The end result, of course, is that the root file system fills up. So .. how can I prevent this from happening? I've got SELinux disabled and I have Guest files in /XenGuests. Firefox 2 on CentOS

Hi, has anybody succesfully compiled & installed firefox2 from source on CentOS 4 ? We need it for a ltsp project with some changes on the source code from firefox. On RHEL3 its working, but on CentOS 4 as well as RHEL4 Firefox2 is not starting after successfull compiling. Just 2 know whether its a problem of FF oder CentOS/RHEL ... thx Harald

CentOS 5 and fail2ban

I had fail2ban working against ssh and vsftpd in CentOS 4.4 but in 5 it only works against ssh and not vsftp. This is with the same conf files for fail2ban and vsftp which I used in 4.4. I suspect that the higher version of vsftp may be the cause. Has anyone managed to get it work? Failing that, any pointers on how to downgrade to the vsftpd-2.0.1-5.EL4.5.i386.rpm used in 4.4? __ Iain Lee

rpmforge repo for centos5

Hi, I just downloaded and installed the rpmforge-release rpm file for centos5. Ftp isn't working here, so it went http, but the http mirrors are giving me error 11, connections refused. Is this a problem with the particular mirror? Also, how do i query a specific repo to find out what packages it contains? Thanks. Dave.
