4.5 upgrades on production servers?

The only problem I has was getting the wireless working. Loading bcm43xx froze the system. I went back to ndiswrapper which had a less dramatic stability problem that went away with the 1.43 version. Encryption software for CentOS 5.0

OS: CentOS 5.0 x86. In the past while I was using SL 4.x. I was using BestCrypt. Now in CentOS 5.0, neither BestCrypt nor TrueCrypt seem to work. Is there any volume encryption or full HDD encryption that works with CentOS 5.0 out there (preferably in single-user mode)?

Truetype fonts

I am trying to install on a CentOS5 box http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/files/msttcorefonts-2.0-1.noarch.rpm then did an xfs restart, even an alt-ctrl-backspace. The fonts are located in /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts/ with the owner root & 644. I can't see them when I go to preferences > fonts. I have another computer with CentOS5, the fonts are installed and I can use them w/o problem. Any suggestion? -- Thanks http://www.911networks.com When the network has to work

We had a similar problem. I believe there was an error message in our system log files that pointed to the solution. I logged in remotely and deleted a problem file. I'm not 100% sure what the file was, but I think it was something like .ICEauthority or a variation on it. Some how the file got corrupted and when root tried to login, it was quickly kicked out. Source RPM -- need to rebuild ldap client tools

Hi all, I believe the last yum update I performed installed a new openldap-client for me, including SASL support. I used to be able to perform ldapsearch without explicitly passing '-x' to the command line to pull the directory down. Now, I receive the following: ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: No such attribute (16) Would my best bet be to find a source RPM and rebuild the ldap client without sasl support? If so, where's my best bet to grab this and do it the "proper" CentOS way. Thanks, - sf
