tsclient/rdesktop connection to Vista?

Has anyone gotten this to work under CentOS 4.5? When I choose RDPv5 I get this error: ERROR: modulus len 0x108 ERROR: send: Connection reset by peer ERROR: Connection closed When I try just RDP, I get: ERROR: modulus len 0x108 ERROR: send: Connection reset by peer -- --- David Woyciesjes

yum update fails, cobbler check fails

Hi, I'm running Centos 5 on an IBM x3550 series server with kernel version 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP, dual xeon, 9GB ram system. When I run yum update, I get this error: --> Running transaction check --> Processing Dependency: libevent-1.1a.so.1()(64bit) for package: nfs-utils --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Missing Dependency: libevent-1.1a.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package nfs-utils I could do a force past this, but was just curious if anyone else has run into this issue. The reason I ask is that I just installed RPMforge, cobbler, koan, and dnsmasq. 11 wget ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/dag/redhat/el4/en/x86_64/dag/RPMS/rpmforge-release-… 12 rpm -ivh rpmforge-release-0.3.6-1.el4.rf.x86_64.rpm 13 yum install cobbler 14 yum install koan 16 yum install dnsmasq 17 cobbler check -I get this error when running cobbler check: [root@localhost ~]# cobbler check Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/cobbler", line 18, in ? import cobbler.cobbler as app ImportError: No module named cobbler.cobbler Could these two symptoms relate to the same root cause? This happens to be the second server I have tried this on, with same results, on completely different hardware, different networks, so we know this isn't a driver or network issue. Anyhow, any advice is much appreciated, i'd love to roll out a more robust provisioning system, looks like am super close once past this error. -karl

Customizing locale settings in CentOS-4.5

I am trying to determine how to customize the date and time display of system utilities and user programs using the locale settings. What I really want is some sort of utility program that does the same thing for CentOS as the Regions Settings Control Panel app. for MicroSoft Windows accomplishes, but I have no hope of seeing that. I have traced the login locale processing through /etc/profile /etc/profile.s/*.sh and ~/.bash_profile and have decided to work backwards from ~/.bash_profile. What I initially wish to accomplish is to set the date and time display (only) to iso-8601 format. I infer from what I have read that setting LC_TIME to "i18n.UTF-8" "should" accomplish this (presumably referring to /usr/share/i18n/locales/i18n). But when I add the following two lines to ~/.bash_profile I do not get any change to the date and time display in ls and further I get an error when I run locale saying that the language file could not be found. ~/.bash_profile ---> + LC_TIME='"i18n.UTF-8"' + export LC_TIME <--- After I do this and log back in then when I run locale I see this: # locale locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory LANG=en_CA.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_TIME="i18n.UTF-8" <---------- set as expected LC_COLLATE="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_NAME="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_CA.UTF-8" LC_ALL= # # ll -d D* drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mar 12 09:05 Desktop # exit Note the error message regarding LC_ALL and the failure to change the date display. Can somebody tell me a.) what is going on? and b.) how does one customize just the date and time display using locales? Centos Server Cd not in any mirrors?

Diskdump on a Logical Volume.

Alle, I'm trying to setup diskdump on a FJ E7110 notebook. Disk partitions were auto configured, using /dev/hda1 for /boot and /dev/hda2 for VolGroup00 (LogVol00 (/) and LogVol01 (swap)). Can diskdump be configured to use the logical swap volume? When I try to do the setup, the following occurs: [root@HOST sysconfig]# service diskdump initialformat Formatting dump device: /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01: skipped (swap device) [root@HOST sysconfig]# Any help would be appreciated. Quotas not working over NFS?

Hi I have a problem with displaying quotas on a NFS client running CentOS 5. It works fine in the sense that I can display the quota for a user when running the quota command as root, It does not work when running as a ordinary user as shown in the example below. Hard Drive Recovery

Hello our external scsi drive is detached, so it is not showing up in fdisk -l however it shows up mounted in /etc/mtab is there any command that I can run to detect and re attach the hard drive again ? I don't want to reboot the computer. Thanks

Where is perl-spamassassin for Centos 5?

I am looking for it..... I need it (according to the docs) for Scalix 11. And their docs say it is included in SuSE, but it does not seem to be in Centos 5. And I think I had it for a Centos 4 system.

I have just finished setting up and configuring a server running CentOS 5 with 2 Xen VMs. This article describes my journey through this, including the problems I faced and there solutions. It documents the installation of CentOS 5, from a single CD, adding software, configuring squid, NFS, Xen, etc and sharing yum cache and lot more! chown and chgrp on 4.5 vs 5.0

I just noticed that on centso 4.5 I have an executable with the +s (chmod +s myexe) doing a chmod root myexe and chown root myexe does NOT affect the +s setting. However, on centos 5 this is not the case. chmod +s myexe chown root myexe or chgrp root myexe will DROP the +s status. How can I get around this? I want to keep the owner, group, world settings.
