rtc in /proc/interrupts

Hi - I am using centos 4.6 on an ebox 4300. Everything seems to be working except the /proc/interrupts rtc is always constant. On other machines the rtc (which ztdummy from asterisk) is always incrementing. the uhci_hcd and ehci_hcd are both running. What can cause this? xen and nvidia

has anyone had any luck getting nvidia to work with the latest xen kernel under x86_64? I found an unsupported method involving IGNORE_XEN_PRESENCE [1], but it doesn't work for me. Everything google turns up seems to be a year old. prob nothing has changed but I just wonder. [1] http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/archive/index.php/t-95483.html maybe I could I run a xen dom0 under vmware? nah...

DRBD 8.2 crashes CentOS 5.2 on rsync from remote host

I've got a pair of HA servers I'm trying to get into production. Here are some specs : Xeon X3210 Quad Core (aka Core 2 Quad) 2.13Ghz (four logical processors, no Hyper Threading) 4GB memory Hardware (3ware) Raid 1 mirror, 2 x Seagate 750GB SATA2 650GB DRBD partition run on top of an LVM2 partition. CentOS 5.2 2.6.18-92.1.6.el5.centos.plus DRBD 8.2 (drbd82-8.2.6-1.el5.centos) Kernel Module kmod-drbd82-8.2.6-1.2.6.18_92.1.6.el5.centos.plus I've been trying to rsync data from a remote server and it's crashed a couple of times now. It does not happen immediately, but over time. I connected a serial console and got the below panic message. The last file copied was ~1GB in size, but previous files up to 4GB had been copied. I do not have kernel core dumping enabled, but that's a possibility if needed. Not sure if this is a bug or is caused by something I've done. This isn't my first DRBD install (although first on top of LVM) and I believe I've gotten everything setup correctly. I did have a full sync rate (110M) enabled over Gbe, if that's relevant. Thoughts? Hint, if you put, "Error: (2, 'Invalid kernel', 'xc_dom_compat_check: guest type xen-3.0-x86_32" in google you might just get the info you need. I made a file partition-ks.cfg and put it in our machine 192.168.5.17 under /var/www/html. When I install a new machine I just do a linux ks=http://192.168.5.17/partition-ks.cfg I have a couple questions though: 1) I have the following in it: clearpart --all part /boot --fstype ext3 --size=100 part /var --fstype ext3 --size=10000 part / --fstype ext3 --size=10000 part swap --size=2048 part /home --fstype ext3 --size=100 --grow which is OK if I am installing over a previous installation. But for new machines it does not seem to recognize the "clearpart" or it is not enough because I am still prompted whether I want to remove partitions. Should I be using something else? 2) I would like to duplicate the CentOS installation disk and place partition-ks.cfg on the disk too so that during boot it automatically is used (or barring that I can still say ks=<dvd drive>/partition-ks.cfg. Automatically would be better. I tried some ways I thought it said to do that but it did not work. Any tips?

gcc editor for newbie (Emacs or vim or ?)

I downloaded the .pdf version of "Thinking in C++" and I've begun to read that and I did yum groupinstall 'Development Tools' I'm a Newbie Desktop user, jumping into the deep end of the pool. Should I try to learn vi (Vim) (which obviously will help me, if I ever need to administer a remote box) or install Emacs or something else, for the gcc editor? An easy learning curve is strongly preferred, but, I am 100% aware of the advantages of vi. Recommendations? TIA!

libc.so.6(GLIBC_PRIVATE)(64bit) is needed but I cannot find it in CentOS 5.2

Hi, I hope it's the right list. Anyway, I'm using CentOS 5.2. I wrote a program that uses rtkaio (so my Makefile contains -lrtkaio). The program runs successfully. The problem began when I wanted to create a rpm for my program. conntrack-tools and Session syncing

Hi folks, I have 2 firewalls, setup with Centos 5.2. They are also routers, connected to 2 upstream routers. I have some cases where connections from servers to the internet leave my network via router2 and answers come back via router1. So I added conntrack tools to both routers/firewalls to synchronize the session tables (using ftfw procotol). That works as expected. If e.g. I ping from an inside server to somewhere outside, ICMP request leaves via router2, the answer comes back via router1. conntrack -e on router1 shows this session (as unreplied), BUT the firewall blocks it as new connection - that means iptables does not recognize conntrackd's addition to the session table. Seems that I have a conceptional misunderstanding here - but I do not find anything that could be wrong. Could somebody please help? I am stuck. Any hint or help is appreciated. Dirk

Kerio Mailserver on Centos 5

I was wondering if any of the mail admins on here have used the kerio mail server on centos, and their thoughts on it. My initial testing is going very well - but was hoping for some unbiased opinions (as opposed to asking on the kerio forum) on it's use with centos (5 in particular if possible). THE typical q's - IE performance, issues, etc. Thanks in advance. Dk

Sendmail is not putting the full information in the received header anymore

Previously, when our server received an email it would slap the rcpt to in the received headers by adding a for <...> any ideas what has changed? Any pointers would be grateful.
