Will centos Team drop support for CSGFS 4??

Hi all, I would like to ask if the centos team will drop support for the CSGFS version 4, it's been 3 months since csgfs does not sync updates with rh, but rh has posted all their updates to their cs gfs version 4 public available. If help is needed to rebuild this updates just let it know. Best regards

Sound with headphones on: Streamaudio perfect but youtube and system-config-soundcard silent

This afternoon, I bought a pair of ear plugs (the large flat kind that hook onto my ears). Plugged them in to test and they work perfectly. I'm listening to streamaudio.com as I type this. However, when I tried to watch a youtube.com video (my wife exercise dancing) just silence. She had the same video on to test and the sound was fine on her box. Then, I tried system-config-soundcard and with the volume set at 100%, just silence. Does this have to do with lower voltages coming from youtube.com and system-config-soundcard or is there some other explanation and a cure? TIA....

squid HA failover?

I'm running a pair of squids as an internal cache for some intermediate data used by a web server farm and currently doing failover by going through an F5 bigip. However, I'd like to avoid the bigip and use heartbeat since there are only two machines. I don't need to sync any content since it is a fast-changing cache and either machine can handle everything. Is it possible to add a floating IP with heartbeat and cut over to it slowly while also still using the existing IP's on that subnet? The documentation I've seen implies that it is bad to use the real IP's. If heartbeat can't do this, would it work to use vrrp? -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell(a)gmail.com

CentOS 5.3

Hey folks! Does any one have an idea as to when centOS 5.3 will be out and if so then I would like to hear from you coz I am waiting for it day and night coz I heard that the kernel of centos 5.3 will have inbuilt support for intel pro/wireless 3945 wifi card ( I have been trying to install the drivers desperately with no fruit ). And by the way does any body know how I can safely upgrade from centos 5.2 to 5.3 ( when it comes out that is ) without messing up the other partitions ( I have dual booted windows vista and centos 5.2 ) ( I use windows at office and I use centos at home ) and that too the method shouldn't cause any damage to the windows installation Yours KMB Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel

Do an "lspci -v" and find the entry for your card reader. Then check to see if it is supported by the kernel (look in /boot/config-<kernelVersion>). If it is, I don't have an answer for you. If it isn't, check to see if it's supported by the current kernel from kernel.org. If it still isn't, it's not going to work until someone implements support for that particular card reader. If it is, you have the option of building and running a custom kernel using the source from kernel.org. There are lots of how-tos on how to make this happen.
