Two sets of Heartbeat HTTPD clusters on same subnet

Hi all, I am new to Hearbeat so please be kind :) I also posted this on Linux-HA lists with no responses so I posted it here. I have successfully configure two machines to use heartbeat to cluster httpd. The two nodes are called etk-1 and etk-2. I am trying to configure another two machines to act as a separate cluster (on the same IP subnet). These two nodes are called radu-1 and radu-2. Obviously being a broadcast protocol radu-1 and radu-2 get these messages from etk-1 and I can't seem to get radu-1 and radu-2 to cluster (mostly probably because they are not getting the messages from the right nodes). Should I just change the name of the test, if I do that I get heaps of WARNING log messages. Is it possible to have two sets of clusters in the one IP subnet? Samba and iptables - woes

Help setting up multipathing on CentOS 4.7 to an Equallogic iSCSI target

I'm trying to test out an Equallogic PS5500 with a server running CentOS 4.7 I can create a volume and mount it fine using the standard iscsi-initiator-utils tools. The Equallogic box has 3 Gigabit interfaces and I would like to try to set up things so I can read/write from/to the volume using multiple NICs on the server i.e. get 200+ Mbyte/s access to the volume - I've had some basic info from Equallogic (Dell) saying that I need to set up DM multipathing - however, the info I have starts by saying that I have to: "Make sure the host can see multiple devices representing the same target volume" However, I'm not sure how I get to this point i.e. how do I set up the Equallogic and/or server so that I can see a single volume over multiple network links? Has anyone set up one of these Equallogic boxes in this way using CentOS4/RHEL4 ? Thanks James Pearson

Getting ready for CentOS 5.4

Hi, Since the release of CentOS 5.3 is imminent(?) I'd like to ask a question regarding why did it took so long to be released and, more important, suggest some actions in order to reduce this time if I can assume what caused this delay. First I'd like to make sure I am not complaining about this delay between the RHEL and CentOS releases per se. I did not help in any way to make it happen faster and usually I don't mind having a three weeks gap between them. But I've noticed that we had two security related kernel updates from RHEL since the RHEL 5.3 release and there is no word on when it will be released or why is it taking so long. I can only assume that this delay is caused by lack of the necessary human resources. So, if this is really the case I'd suggest making some sort of campaign to raise money and provide the necessary resources in order to speed things up. If RH maintains the 4-6 month schedule it can happen again in less than three months. If this is not the case as a suggestion please let the community know what's going on. Perhaps an automated email sent to the mailing list with today's status (like 400 packages left to rebase, 20 packages being reviewed by QA etc) would give a sense of progress, let the others know if you hit problems and reduce the anxiety with daily doses of news :) Regards.

Replacing my Scalix mail server

I really need to either upgrade my Scalix server or replace it. It has to be: Free Integrated with anti-spam IPv6 support optional anti-virus (processing concerns) I don't have to be able to port mail from the Scalix to the new server. Everyone can just POP their mail. I have read a bit about Zimbra, it comes as a tar for rhel 5. No rpm that I can find. I also found SME, I have a LOT of questions about it, and am asking on their forum board. Anything else out there I should look for?

NTP error message on /var/log/messages

I just setup CENTOS 4.7 with latest patches on DELL server. I also configured NTP point to out time server. live audio feed via telephone link

I'm looking into costs and feasibility of moving a live feed from a FM radio station from the station to a point that's past the usable range of their radio signal. It's a rural location and Internet service is not available at the station. If the destination was closer or their transmitter was more powerful, I could avoid this step and just plug in a radio, but.... My best idea so far is to rent a dedicated phone line from the station to the point where we need the feed, then get some kind of on-the-fly audio compressor to hook up to the main board in the station, push it out over the phone line, then decompress it at the destination. I'm pretty sure there is dedicated hardware to do the compression/decompression (whatever they use to do those "radio remotes" from Sally's Sofa Sales without sounding like they are broadcasting from the bottom of a rain barrel) and I'm currently looking into that angle too, but I'm wondering if it would be cheaper/easier/better to have something running on Linux at both ends of the connection to handle the audio compression/decompression. Especially since I'm planning to run a Centos server at the destination end for other aspects of this project if we proceed with it. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Melville Sask ~ http://www.melvilletheatre.com

Authconfig

Anyone used authconfig to join a CentOS box to an AD Domain? I can't for the life of me get this command to even execute without error? Looking at the tui which I can make work, I am trying to glean possible settings from it but have no luck. Although krb5 auth is disabled and winbind is enabled, there is kerb conf that must be setup etc... Looking at /etc/sysconfig/authconfig from a temporary box built with a gui and joined successfully, I also can't make the cli equivalent work? I can't find a single piece of info via Google either. Any pointers would be helpful! jlc
