Error: when updating the latestt kernel 2.6.34 in centos 5.5

Hi, I encounter a error when installing the latest kernel 2.6.34 in centos. Steps: 1. download source code. 2.tar -xvf 2.6.34.tar.gz 3.use the .config file of current system in /boot directory. 4.make ,make modules_install, make install, 5.reboot. 6.error:: accur. Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while ... Activating logical volumes Volume group "VolGroup00" not found Creating root device. Mounting root filesystem. mount: could not find filesystem"/dev/root" setting up other filesystems. ... After comparing the latest initrd.img and the current system initrd.img . The differnce below: the currenet system has more modules before excuting the LVM operations. these modules is dm-mem-cache.ko , dm-message.ko and dm-raid45.ko which depends the others. I know the centos 5.5 ' s kernel is 2.6.18. which has dm-raid45.ko module. I do not know which changes to 2.6.34 about LVM. I think the errro is about the LVM. Anyone can give me answer or advice. Dear All I have received a new centos server that does contain 'expect' but it does not contain 'autoexpect' . Is there any way to add 'autoexect' to it? Thank you

Setting up a printer without having one

Hi folks! :-) I am supposed to configure this fresh install of CentOS 5.5 to work nicely with the HP 1010 printer, once it gets connected to the computer (probably via usb, but I cannot be sure). The problem is that I will not be anywhere near the machine when the printer actually gets plugged in, and hp-setup refuses to do anything until that happens. So how does one configure a to-be-used-in-the-future printer, without actually having one plugged in? People who are going to use the machine are noobs, and unlikely to be able to set up the printer themselves, so it would be a good idea if I could do it in advance. I haven't done anything like this before, and would be grateful for any pointers. TIA! :-) Marko

Broken repo / mirrors?

xulrunner 1.9.0.19-1: Does it exist or what?

According to 'yum info xulrunner' version 1.9.0.19, release 1.el5_5 exists and is an available package. But when I try to update it, yum claims there is nothing to do and when I try a general update, yum complains that it cannot update firefox because it cannot find xulrunner >= 1.9.0.19-1. What is going on here? I am doing this on a desktop x86_64 system that I recently brought up to CentOS 5.5, using the DVD ISO I downloaded to my laptop. I'd like to finish this update, but I am having this strange problem. I am getting the same problem on my (i686) laptop. probleme with dk dkim and dlv for miltiple domain

hello all hello postfix network hello centos network I am having problems with my dk and dkim signature of my emails I have successfully made the process of verification of signatures dnssec all my domains are correct and good displays on dlv.isc.org the reason for my problem just the reason that I have updated my postfix and I have recreated a pair of keys with openssl for dkimproxy the reason for my questions one of my domains. in .fr: after validation of signatures by isc dk dkim said OK Other areas domains ( other .fr and other .eu ) after validation of signatures by isc dk dkim said bad that happens I do not understand thanks for advice thanks for help
